Statue of the goddess Tawrt. Karnak
The statue represents the goddess Taurt, whose name means “Great”. She has always been depicted as a fantastic creature with the head of a hippopotamus, human arms, breasts and belly of a pregnant woman, symbolizing fertility. On her head is a three-piece wig and a crown stand. In other images, where the crown has been preserved, its resemblance to the crown of Isis and Hathor in the form of cow horns with a solar disk is visible. The hands of the goddess rest on the hieroglyphs of protection, which corresponds to her main function – the goddess was considered the patron of birth. She was in the retinue of the seven goddesses Hathor – heavenly cows, predicting fate.
The statue of Tawart is superbly preserved. During manufacture, it was so carefully polished that it seems that the thing is made of metal.

On its base is an inscription, which says that a certain Pabasa, the head of the priests and the manager of the divine wife of Amon Nitocris, dedicates this statue to Taurt and asks the goddess to protect the property of her lady Nitocris, which she inherited from her predecessor.
