The firm of Johann Lötz Witwe, known throughout the world as Loetz or LÖTZ, was founded in the 19th century in Bohemia (Austria-Hungary).
The company was the first in Austria to start producing so-called baroque glass – items with overlaid glass decorations. Sample warehouses were located in Vienna, Berlin, Hamburg, Paris, London, Brussels, Milan and Madrid, which soon made Loetz products world-famous.
Glass produced by the company skillfully imitates all kinds of onyx, jasper, carnelian, malachite, lapis lazuli, etc. Luxurious glasses LOETZ received the highest awards at international exhibitions.
By the end of the 19th century, with the advent of electricity, table lamps became a very popular commodity. Such lamps with shades from LOETZ deserve special attention not only for the beauty of the glass, but also for the skillful design of the stands, designed by famous designers of the time.
