Faberge jewelry was often decorated with precious enamels. Guilloche enamel looked especially beautiful. In this technique, enamel is applied over a rhythmic geometric ornament finely engraved on the surface of the product, sometimes imitating the texture of a moire fabric or rays. Such a pattern is applied using a guilloche machine.

Master jewelers gave their products for enameling to a separate workshop, which was engaged only in enamel work. Most often these were cigarette cases, photo frames, call buttons, jewelry, jewelry boxes, umbrella handles. The enamel workshop of the company was headed by Nikolai Alexandrovich Petrov.

A large number of guilloché enamel jewelry from FABERGÉ is in the collection of British monarchs. Many of them were gifts from the Russian imperial house.
