Seung Mo Park is an extraordinary Korean artist (currently based in Brooklyn), whose works fascinate, surprise and give the viewer true aesthetic pleasure. The project “Human” is a series of female sculptures made of aluminum wire.

Before starting to create sculptures, Seung Mo Park had mastered the art of creating delicate portraits from wire. Gradually, he moved from two-dimensional images of pretty female faces to three-dimensional sculptures. The use of such a flexible and pliable material as wire allowed the artist to carefully work out the smallest facial features, strands of hair, clothing details and other details. As a result, the “iron ladies” look truly alive.

Apparently, the artist had to put in a lot of effort to lay the “steel threads” so tightly, because the sculptures look like a monolith without a single gap or omission. If you look closely, the winding resembles the rings on a tree trunk, which enhances the special visual effect.

Sensual and tender, the sculptures by Son Mo Pak are a hymn to the beautiful female body, because, as Pierre de Ronsard, a famous French poet of the 16th century, said, “before female beauty we have all become powerless. She is stronger than gods, people, fire and steel.”
