Glass by Lionel Pierce
The design of Lionel Pierce’s work differs from all other products of Thomas Webb & Sons. His work is often compared to that of Eiml Galle.
Lionel and Daniel Pierce joined the company in 1884. Between 1900 and 1905 they created a series of vases-cameos “Sylvandale” (Sylvandale) with landscapes. These Art Nouveau creations have been compared to the marquetrie sue verre technique that Gallé and other French glass artists developed in the 1890s.
