Francisco Ribera Gomez (1907 – 1990)
The artist Francisco Ribera Gomez was born in 1907 in Madrid.
The future artist received his first painting lessons in the studio of his father, who was a famous Spanish artist, an adherent of the school of romanticism. Subsequently, Francisco studied at the Madrid Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, and after graduating from the academy – El Paular (Granada).

In 1928, Francisco Ribera Gomez presented his works at the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid and received his first award as one of the laureates of the exhibition. Subsequently, there was another victory in 1930. And then the artist became interested in posters and advertising art, and even became the art director of the advertising firm of Walter Thompson.

After the end of the Civil War, the artist actively participated in national exhibitions of fine art, and after the end of World War II, she began teaching at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts.

In 1946, Francisco Ribera Gomez was appointed an honorary member of the Association of Spanish Painters and Sculptors. In 1968, the artist received a diploma and a gold medal “For services to the development of art, science and literature” in Paris. In 1973, the artist was named a knight of the “Order of the Italian Republic”.
The artist died in 1990. He was buried in Barcelona.
