Christen Dalsgaard (30 October 1824 – 11 February 1907)

Christen Dalsgaard was a Danish genre painter and representative of national romantic realism. Christen Dalsgaard was born on 30 October 1824 in the north of the Jutland Peninsula, in the Krabbesholm estate, near Skive, to the landowner Jens Dalsgaard and his wife Christiana, née Rasmussen. From early childhood he showed a talent for drawing. He spent his childhood on the coast of the Limfjord and its views could not help but be reflected in his works. Later he would depict his native places in his landscapes.
