Ceramic Fantasies by Carol Long
The works of the American ceramics master Carol Long (Carol Long, b. 1965) are inspired by natural motifs. Her works surprise with the sophistication and harmony of flowing forms and the beauty of the decor. She is constantly looking for new ways to embody the beauty of the world in her creations. Carol’s work is featured at the Charlie Cummings Gallery in Gainesville, Florida, Karg Art Glass in Kechi, Kansas, and the Philly Art Museum in Pratt, Kansas. In recent years, she has been leading workshops throughout the United States.
Carol Long was born in 1965 and grew up on a farm in Stafford County, Kansas. In these wooded areas, Carol found her connection to nature. Her mother was interested in art and often took Carol to art museums. Carol felt the need to express herself by bringing her imagination to life. Her teacher, Sheldon Ganstrom, helped spark Carol’s interest in pottery. She then attended Barton County Community College, where she realized that ceramics was her calling.
