Artist Michael Malm

Michael Malm was born in 1972 in the USA. Lives with his family in Wellsville, Cache Valley, in northern Utah. Graduated from Dixie College with a bachelor’s degree and Southern Utah University with a master’s degree. Painting – impressionism, oil, figurative. Idyll of rural life in America of the XIX century.

His favorite theme of paintings is figurative painting: The basis of Michael’s painting is portraits. Beautiful girls of the Victorian era, children’s portraits, and genre scenes showing rural life. But in all his works, the artist always draws a red line theme of light. Sunlight, or light from a kerosene lamp, or light from a fireplace. Light is his main creative tool.

He began studying art at the age of 21, entering Dixie State College in Utah, absorbed the basics of drawing, so that painting would become his life’s work – so Michael Malm entered his dream – to become an artist. Completed his formal art education at the University of Utah where he received a Master of Fine Arts.

Very beautiful and I really like Michael Malm’s images of women and children depicted in national costumes. These are girls and children in headscarves, villagers at work and dreamy girls in beautiful dresses. It looks very picturesque!
