Roman Garassuta – painter born in 1958 in Moscow

Artist Roman Garassuta was born in Moscow in 1958.
After finishing high school, he entered the Kharkov Art Institute, which he graduated in 1979.

The works of Roman Garassuta are a symbiosis of romanticism and impressionism. The artist’s paintings are somewhat reminiscent of the works of Nikolai Feshin. However, at one time, German artists worked hard to combine styles – they added abstract objects to realism. For example, David Friedrich painted nature and the surroundings of the central figure in the style of realism, and the human figure – in the style of romanticism. The result is “sounding paintings” – the canvas is conditionally static, but in this staticity, if you look closely, a quiet, like distant music, movement arises.
