During the search, it was found that several times during this time the painting was secretly resold from hand to hand. The successful detective told the media that an entrepreneur from the Netherlands, who collects works of art, approached him through his assistants.

The fact that the picture is listed as stolen, the buyer learned after he became the owner of the canvas. The authenticity of the found masterpiece was confirmed by experts.

This portrait by Pablo Picasso was created in 1938. It depicts one of his lovers, a French woman of Croatian origin, Dora Maar. In the art world, she is known as the creator of the Papa Ubu photomontage.

This work is considered the hallmark of surrealism. Connoisseurs of Picasso’s work call the charming bright Dora nothing more than a “weeping woman.” This is due to the fact that in many portraits Pablo depicted his muse as sad. Over the past twenty years, the cost of the painting has increased six times. In 1999, the price was 4 million euros. Now the canvas is tentatively valued at 25 million euros.
