The history of military style in the interior
The history of the military style has a little over 50 years, although its origins can be found in ancient times. Being away from home, during the fighting, people have always sought to equip livable housing in the field. For these purposes, our ancestors used the simplest means at hand, and a variety of items of military equipment served as decor. Soldiers and officers equipped dugouts and tents, dugouts and trenches during wars in different parts of the Earth. This is how the military style in the interior was formed, which for a long time was limited to the framework of the army.
The original direction of clothing and interior design in the spirit of military themes first appeared in Western Europe and the USA in the 60s of the last century. In those days, the ideas of hippies, which had a pronounced anti-war orientation, were very popular. The youth began to actively use all kinds of military paraphernalia as an addition to civilian clothing, and soon it became a fashion trend. And a little later, the original military style appeared in the field of interior design, where it still remains in demand.
The military style attracts many people with its brutality and simplicity of the environment. Therefore, the interior in the spirit of military asceticism today can be found not only in apartments and houses, but also in the decoration of various entertainment venues: cafes and bars, restaurants and cafes, hotels and clubs.
