John Brosio – contemporary American artist

John Brosio is a contemporary American artist born in 1957 in Pasadena, California. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of California, Davis and his Master of Fine Arts from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Brosio is best known for his photorealistic paintings, which often incorporate unexpected and surreal elements. His works are a commentary on contemporary society and often explore themes of consumerism, waste, and environmental degradation. Brosio’s style is characterized by meticulous attention to detail and the use of vibrant colors and lighting effects.

Some of Brosio’s famous works include “The New Normal,” which depicts a suburban landscape overrun by rising floodwaters, and “The King is Dead,” which shows a decomposed Elvis Presley sitting on a toilet surrounded by fast food wrappers and containers.

Brosio has exhibited his work in solo and group shows throughout the United States, and his pieces can be found in numerous public and private collections. He currently lives and works in California.
