He is the son of a professional illustrator. Jeremy Lipkin says that although he always loved to draw, he did not study it specifically as a child until he felt an extraordinary craving for painting in his teens. This acquaintance of the young artist with the world of art became, perhaps, the most important link in his entire subsequent art education.

After school, Lipkin entered the California Institute of the Arts, where he became one of the best students of those years. Currently, he teaches in art studios across the country. Jeremy is a versatile contemporary artist, equally skilled at painting landscapes and still lifes, but he particularly enjoys painting portraits or figures against any background. Lipkin prefers to work in a limited palette of colours, which helps to create a special, unique mood.
