Eyvind Earle – American artist

Eyvind Earle (1916-2000) was a talented artist whose work had a significant impact on the background illustrations and style of Disney animated films in the 1950s.
However, few people know that his art also penetrated the world of Christmas cards, becoming one of the most prolific and successful illustrators in this field.

In 1938, Eyvind Earle began his career drawing Christmas cards, and it became his passion for most of his life. He collaborated with the American Artist Group, creating more than 800 unique plots for cards. Earle quickly formed his recognizable style, characterized by simplicity and clarity in conveying plots. His works were distinguished by technical illustration, which combined mystery and simplicity, conveying the grandeur and beauty of the American countryside.

One of the main elements of his style was the serigraphy technique, which Earle masterfully used in his works. Serigraphy allowed him to create rich, vibrant colors and to render details with great precision. Thanks to this technique, his Christmas cards became true works of art that brought joy and admiration to people all over the world.

Although Eyvind Earle is better known for his contributions to animation, his work in the field of Christmas cards left an indelible mark. He continued to draw and create new themes for cards throughout his life. His art inspired people and filled their hearts with the joy and magic of the Christmas season.
