Clumsy and carefree Hilda won the hearts of the audience from the first days. And postcards and posters depicting the plump’s hilarious adventures were popular for nearly three decades, from the 1950s to the early 1980s.

Moreover, after the death of the American artist Duane Bryers (Duane Bryers), namely he is the author of Hilda, illustrations with a cheerful girl again excited the public, and now not only in America.

The typical pin-up girl of the early 1950s was beautiful, slim, charming. A model-type young lady, stylishly dressed and playfully combed her hair, always got into trouble, from which only a real man would help her out. It would seem that the eternal history and competitors to her can not be found. And so it was until Duane Bryers took up the pencil.

About the artist Duane Bryers

Duane Bryers born in 1911 in Michigan and spent his childhood on a small farm where there was not much entertainment for children. Therefore, the boy began to draw and at the age of five he made his first comic book. Duane Bryers worked in advertising, painted interiors, created paintings, choosing cowboys and life in the American village as the main theme.

Of course, like any artist, Bryers wanted to create something masterpiece. And so in 1958 Hilda was born. You can’t resist the charm of a cheerful donut. It is worth noting that Bryers had a great sense of humor. And the stories turned out to be very interesting, in which the author involved the viewer

The heroine of the illustrations is a magnificent young lady in her full bloom. Sincere, spontaneous, cheerful, Hilda positively accepts the world around her and does not get upset even in the most hopeless situations.

Unlike traditional pin-up girls, Hilda seduces the viewer with nude forms – the artist depicts a half-naked plumper. There are no other people near Hilda, but her frequent companions are animals, for example, bunnies or dogs.

For 36 years, the artist has drawn more than 250 pin-up drawings with a cheerful fat woman. Each of them is a complete story, simple and understandable.
